MEYCO Altera in tight corner
The Hydroelectric Power Station Taschinas (in Grüsch) have decided to build a new pressure tunnel between Küblis and Chlus as part of an expansion of their production capacity.
Gasser Sprengtechnik from Lungern in central Switzerland are specialists when it comes to blasting and tunnelling in the very mountainous regions and wherever space is tight. In this case the job demanded a very small profile tunnel with limited access.
For their part of the construction work, which included the sprayed concrete lining, it was decided that a MEYCO Altera wet-spraying shotcrete pump and MEYCO Rama 6 concrete spraying manipulator mounted on a special carrier would be the ideal, if not the only, alternative open to them.
You can see from the following photos it was a tight squeeze for men, machines and materials. But Gasser say that the work went well and on schedule.

Applications for MEYCO Altera
The MEYCO Altera is used for the conveying and spraying of wet-mix concrete. Typical applications include permanent and temporary rock support in tunnels, mines, for slope protection, or in fact wherever sprayed concrete is to be applied. It can also be employed for pumping, grouting and repair work. Being a piston pump it provides much more versatility, in both mix types and potential conveying distances, than a rotor/stator pump of a similar capacity.
