MEYCO on the BBC
Work is under way to dig the UK's longest non-estuarial road tunnel below the A3 London-Portsmouth road at the Devil's Punchbowl in Surrey.
When completed the mile long Hindhead Tunnel will clear 30,000 drivers a day from an infamous bottleneck.
BBC South Today's Danielle Glavin ventured underground for a sneak preview.
